After arrival in Prague, meet your local guide and enjoy a half day guided tour. Hop inside your coach for a panoramic tour of some of Prague’s major sights. Take in landmarks such as the Powder Tower, one of the city’s medieval gateways; the National Theatre; and bustling Wenceslas Square, the scene of the protests that marked the 1989 Velvet Revolution. After your drive, take a guided walking tour around the exterior of UNESCO-listed Prague Castle. Then, explore the baroque neighborhood of Mala Strana and Kampa Island, home to the famous graffiti-covered Lennon Wall, before taking a sightseeing cruise along the Vltava River. As you sail, admire the passing sights, including the Charles Bridge and other landmarks.

Surrounded by landscaped gardens, the mighty castle stands on a rock promontory sculpted by the Vltava River, overlooking the town below. Explore the opulent courtyards, halls and furnishings, learning about the structure’s history from your guide as you go. You’ll also have the chance to see the Church of St. Vitus, another significant landmark featured in the town’s skyline. After the visit, say goodbye to your guide and proceed to Vienna.

This palace, original designed as a hunting lodge, has been improved to serve as a summer residence. Today, the palace is open for visitors who seek to learn more about the culture, history, and life of the people who lived there. From Schonbrunn’s windows you can gaze into the park which you will later be able to walk through. The large park, along with the palace, have placed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. After breakfast, transfer to Szentendre. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and enjoy a half day guided tour. Located at the South Gate of the Danube Bend, Szentendre features charming squares, cobblestone streets, Serb temples and Baroque architecture. The town also hosts a vibrant collection of artists, and a large selection of contemporary art galleries and museums have been formed there as a result. A nearby artists’ quarter houses many of the great minds behind the work on the display. Spend some time with your guide strolling at a relaxed pace through town, perhaps picking up a few Hungarian souvenirs as you go. After the visit, proceed to Budapest, where you will enjoy a Danube cruise, before checking in your hotel.

Enjoy the first impressions of Hungary’s capital, sometimes called the ‘Paris of the East,’ and magnificently set across the River Danube. The famous river splits the city into two districts: Buda, the medieval quarter, and Pest, the commercial heart. Hear how these once-separate cities were united, along with nearby Obuda, to form the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1893. View the landmarks along the Danube’s banks, including the immense Chain Bridge and Houses of Parliament, and enjoy a panoramic tour of other UNESCO-listed sights, including the charming Buda quarter. Admire the Matthias Church, coronation site of many Hungarian kings; and see the cobbled Castle District, Buda Castle, and Fisherman’s, a Gothic terrace with sweeping views over the city. Over in Pest, check out St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hungarian State Opera, and grandiose Vajdahunyad Castle. Plus, drive along elegant Andrassy Avenue, known as Budapest’s ‘Champs-Élysées,’ and admire Heroes Square, a plaza crowned by a colonnaded statue complex depicting the seven Magyar chiefs who founded the country.
