Kagawa Prefecture is the smallest prefecture of Japan (by area). It is located on Shikoku island and the capital is Takamatsu. Sanuki udon (a type of udon noodle) is the most famous local food of Kagawa so Kagawa is also called Udon Prefecture.
Takamatsu Castle, this castle is also called Tamamo Castle. This is well known as one of the three Mizujiro, or “Water Castles” in Japan, along with Imabari Castle in Ehime Prefecture and Nakatsu Castle in Ōita Prefecture.
Ritsurin Garden, one of the most famous historical gardens in Japan. The garden is situated in the city of Takamatsu and is considered one of its main attractions. The garden contains a tea house, various folk art and craft exhibits, as well as various folk art and craft items for sale.
Shodoshima is the second largest island in the Seto Inland Sea and one of the first islands born to the gods in the creation myth of Japan. Shōdoshima is also known for its olives, soy sauce, wild monkeys, and beaches.
Kotohira shrine
is the main shrine of multiple Kompira shrines found around Japan that are dedicated to sailors and seafaring. Located at 521 metres (1,709 ft) halfway to the top of Mount Zōzu, the shrine stands at the end of a long path, with 785 steps to the main shrine and a total of 1368 steps to the inner shrine.
