Day 1Hong Kong → Taoyuan International Airport → Shilin Night Market → Taipei

Shilin Night Market
Shilin Night Market is Taipei’s largest and best-known night market in Shilin district. A lot of the foods from Shilin Night Market are famous for their local flavors and are only available at the Shilin Night Market. Visitors are able to enjoy a wide range of local food, including Sausage Wrapped in Glutinous Rice, Stir-fried Squids, Oyster Omelets, Shilin Super Size Sausages, Ribs Stewed in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Shanghai Bun, Scallion Pancakes, Paopao Ice, Huge Chicken Cutlet, and many more.

Day 2Taipei → Bike → Bali Bali Left Bank Cycling Route → Bus → Daxi Old Street → Leofoo Village → Hsinchu (Bike 12km)

Bali Left Bank Cycling Route
Bali Left Bank Bike Trail begins at Guanyin Valley River mouthand continues on through Basian Seacoast. It is 15 KM, plusor minus. Bali Left Bank Bike Trail is complete and level. As it runs along Tamsui River bank and crosses Guandu Bridge at one point it also traverses Bali Ferry Pier on to Wazihwei Nature Reserve and Shihsanhang Museum of Archeology. Daxi Old Street
The street consists of old stores along Heping Road, Zhongshan Road and Zhongyang Road and is mainly centered on Heping Old Street which was developed relatively late so the residential buildings around the area are still in very good condition. The street is filled with diverse stores with the facade designed in Baroque style that is a perfect blend of East and West. It features the Furen Temple.

Day 3Hsinchu → bike → 17 km Coastline Scenic Area → bus → Sheng-Hsing Train Station → Taichung (Bike 20km)

17 km Coastline Scenic Area
Hsinchu encompasses 17 kilometers of splendid blue coastline, and thousands of hectares of inter-tidal zones, becoming northern Taiwan’s largest coastal wetland area. The wetlands teem with life: shrimps, crabs and shellfish are readily found here. Hsinchu also boasts successful fishing ports. In additiion to tasting seafood , enjoying kite flying and experiencing the nature’s beauty of the fishing harbor, visitors can also enjoy the scenery by cycling.
Sheng-Hsing Train Station
Shengzing is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration West Coast line. It is located in Sanyi Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan. This station was closed to normal service on 24 September 1998 due to a route change of the trunk line. It is now a tourist spot surrounded by a cluster of tea shops and traditional Hakka restaurants.

Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is the largest body of water in Taiwan as well as a tourist attraction. Situated in Yuchi, Nantou, the area around the Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes in Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.

Jiemei(Sister)Lakes
The Jiemei (Sister) Lakes is two adjacent lakes of different sizes. The pond is rectangular and the Sisters Pond is slightly round. It is said that there are two mountain girls in this sensation, so the descendants are called Jiemei (Sister) Lakes. There is also a Xiangsi Pavilion with rafters as the base in the Meitan Lake area. There is also a 100-meter-long Huantan Trail, which allows visitors to visit the whole lake. Alishan Shoujhen Temple
Located within the Alishan Forest Recreation Park, Shoujhen Temple is the largest temple within the Alishan area and indeed, it is also the highest altitude temple in Taiwan. Since the reconstruction in 1969, it has become one of the most popular temples for the locals. The gods that are worshiped here are the Syuantian Emperor, the Fude God, and the Jhusheng Goddess).

Day 5Alishan → Zhushan Sun-Watching Platform(Sunrise) → Tainan Ancient City ~ Anping Fort→Anping Old Street→ Anping Tree House → Kaohsiung

A combined Dutch military and commercial force captured modern day Anping in 1624, and built Fort Zeelandia as its defensive stronghold, which was completed in 1634. In 1662, Koxinga successfully took the Dutch fort back, and changed the name to Anping. The inner fort became the seat of government for Taiwan, and so it was known by Taiwanese as King’s Fort. During the Qing Dynasty, excessive silting of the Taijiang shore gradually reduced the fort’s importance, and it was neglected after being damaged by Qing soldiers who took building materials for the building of Eternal Golden Castle. The fort was rebuilt after the Japanese Colonial Period, and renamed Anping Old For after World War II. Today the only remnant of the Dutch period is the southern brick wall outside the front gate of the Old Fort, covered in the tangled roots of old banyan trees, evidence of the nearly 400 years of Taijiang’s history.
Anping Old Street
Anping Old Street is lined with traditional rammed earth houses, low brick houses as well as Western mansions. Built using earth and stalks, these rammed earth houses are cool in summer while warm in winter, which were very common in the time when a large proportion of the population was engaged in agriculture. Above the doors of these houses, you may notice some hand-painted images of lions with swords in their mouths. These are what we call “sword lions” who serve as the guardians to protect the occupants.
Anping Tree House
Once the warehouse of the Tait & Company more than a century ago, Anping Tree House is now a popular landmark in the old city of Tainan, where the giant banyan trees took over the abandoned building after years of neglect.

The Pier-2 Art Center
It was once an abandoned and forgotten warehouse buried in history due to the move from an industrial based segment to the service sector. However, with a group of persistent artist who injected waves of creativity and inspiration into the area, the Pier-2 area was released and re-born making the region a place where tourist and locals can come together to enjoy fine art. With the collision of an old area and new fine art, Pier-2 becomes an area of new vitality and liveliness.
Cijin Old Street
Along Cijin old street, there are many bicycle vendors, temple and many other little shops peddling their wares. Do not fret, food is aplenty and seafood lovers will be ecstatic to find rows upon rows of fresh seafood as the centre of Cijin old street offerings. Should you be lucky to be in the area at the right time, watch the fishermen go about their daily routines of bringing back their daily loot.
Guanshan sunset

Eluanbi Lighthouse
Eluanbi Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on Cape Eluanbi, the southernmost point of Taiwan, to the south of Hengchun in Pingtung County, Taiwan. Eluanbi Lighthouse is managed by the Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance, Taiwan. The lighthouse is built between the Pacific Ocean and the Taiwan Strait, facing toward the Luzon Strait. Thus, the lighthouse has a splendid panorama. The lighthouse is open to the public all year around. Today, Eluanbi Lighthouse is called “The Light of East Asia”, because its intensity is the most powerful among Taiwan lighthouses.
The Weeping Fig Garden
GangKou Weeping Fig Garden is actually formed by a fig tree with many prop roots. This garden was designated as a Special Landscape Area by Kenting National Park to protect its unique ecological characteristics and landscape feature.
Duoliang Station
After called the most beautiful station, Duoliang Station has attracted more and more tourists, due to the juxtaposition of railway, mountain and ocean. After this station was abolished, the roads previously connected to the platform have been removed. Now people can only stand on the roof of the station to overlook the Pacific scenery. Even so, its charm still remains. Although this station is not used any more, there are still trains passing. When a train rapidly passes in front into the cave, along with the background of blue ocean, rail fans would definitely be crazy for here.

Day 8Zhiben → Jialulan Park → Bike → Water Running Up →Dulan(Lunch) → bus →Hualien (Bike 24km)

Jialulan Park
Jialulan Park, located at 157.7 KM on Highway 11, is a stretch of empty seaside prairie to the north of the well-known Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area. A majestic panoramic view of Dulan Mountains and Dulan Bay is visible at a distance. Jialulan is a famous Amis Village in Taitung City.
Water Running Up

Around Dulan Fishing Bridge and halfway up the hill, visitors could see a stone with inscriptions of “Qiguan” in red, standing alongside the road. A narrow ditch lies next to the stone and water in the ditch runs upwards against gravity. The site is a famous amazement that always attracts the passersby. In fact, the tilting angle of roadside landscape larger than that of the road surface is the secret behind the illusion.

Day 9Hualien → Taroko → Changchun Shrine → Taroko Qingshui Cliff → Su'ao Town →Taipei

Taroko
The Taroko Gorge is composed mainly of metamorphic rocks, such as marble, gneiss, “schist”,etc. The name, Taroko, means the “magnificent and splendid” in the language of Truku, the aboriginal tribe that resides in the area.
Changchun Shrine
Built to commemorate and celebrate the lives of those who built the Central Cross-Island Highway through Taroko National Park close to the east entrance, the picturesque Eternal Spring Changchun Shrine is a beautiful temple sitting on top of a natural spring gushing out of the rocks into a waterfall.
Taroko Qingshui Cliff
Situated between Heren and Chongde on the Su-Hua Highway, Qingshui Cliff is a big formed by Chongde, Qingshui and Heping mountain coastal cliffs. Creating a magnificent scene, it stretches more than 21km and rises vertically from the Pacific Ocean, with an average height of over 800m. This section of cliff is composed of gneiss and marble. It has risen straight up on the eastern coast of Taiwan for thousands of years. The site of the Qingshui Cliff was designated in 1953 by the Taiwan government as one of the island’s “Eight Wonders.”
Su’ao Town
Su’ao Township located in southern Yilan County, Taiwan, is an urban township that is famous for its seafood restaurants and cold springs.It also has two large harbors: Su’ao Port, a multi-function seaport that also houses a naval base; and Nanfang-ao Port, a major fishing port of Taiwan.

Day 10Taipei → Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall → Vigor Kobo ~free pineapple cake making workshop → Taoyuan International Airport /Hong Kong

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
This memorial hall was built in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, the first president of the Republic of China. Work on the hall began in 1976, a year after President Chiang passed away. Design by C.C. Yang, who was also the architect for The Grand Hotel, the memorial hall is white with a blue roof, representing the dominant colors in the ROC flag; while the emblem of the Chinese Nationalist Party adorns the vaulted ceiling. A bronze statue of Chiang looks west symbolically to the Presidential Office Building and mainland China.
